Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains what information The Picture Car Club collects, how it is used, and what your rights are. We collect as little as possible and do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

1. Who we are

The Picture Car Club is an editorial archive and publication operated by Daniel Gosling, based in England, UK. We can be contacted via the contact page.

2. What we collect

We collect information in two circumstances:

  • When you join our mailing list. We collect your email address. This is used solely to send you updates about the archive and new stories. We do not collect your name unless you provide it.
  • When you send us a message. We collect your name, email address and the content of your message via our contact form. This is handled by Formspree, whose privacy policy is available at formspree.io.

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising networks. The Garage feature stores your saved vehicles locally in your browser — this data never leaves your device and we cannot access it.

3. How we use your information

  • Email addresses collected via our mailing list are used only to send editorial updates from The Picture Car Club. We use Formspree to manage this list.
  • Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your enquiry.
  • We do not use your data for profiling, advertising, or any automated decision-making.

4. Third parties

We use the following third-party services in the operation of this site:

  • Formspree — processes contact form and mailing list submissions. Privacy policy.
  • Vercel — hosts this website. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained for security purposes. Privacy policy.
  • Fontshare — serves the typefaces used on this site. Requests to their CDN are subject to their privacy policy.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other behavioural tracking or advertising technology.

5. Data retention

Mailing list email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us via the contact page.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

This site does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Your dark/light mode preference is stored in your browser's localStorage — this data never leaves your device.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Contact

Any questions about this policy or how we handle your data should be directed to us via the contact page.
