908/02

White · Solar Productions · Camera Car

The most extraordinary picture car in the archive — not because of the role it plays on screen, but because of the role it played in reality. Entered as car #29 by Steve McQueen's Solar Productions in the actual 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 908/02 was not there to race. It was there to film. Driven by Herbert Linge and Jonathan Williams with cameras mounted inside, it captured footage that no studio could have recreated — because it was taken from inside a real endurance race, at real racing speed, surrounded by genuine competitors.
